DVD-R or DVD+R?
Which format you choose depends really on your particular DVD drive. Whilst the majority of current drives will take either format it is worth bearing in mind that a few new drives and plenty of older drives will still only take the one format it was designed to use.
There are a few technical advantages to DVD+R although most of these won´t be evident to most home PC users. On the flip side however DVD-R discs are often cheaper than their DVD+R counterparts so if your drive does take both then you may be best off trying DVD-R first off to try and take advantage of the cost saving benefits this format often provides.
DVD-RW and DVD+RW
Refresh Cartridges also provide rewritable media for your drive. These discs are particularly well suited to home DVD recorders as they allow you to re-record many times.
DVD+R Dual Layer
Designed for longer films, these discs allow up to 8.5Gb of recording space (rather than the standard 4.7Gb) however there is a price premium that comes with this extra storage space.
Printable Discs
We stock a range of media with a printable surface that can be used in conjunction with a compatible inkjet or dedicated disc printer.
