This device is used to reset the chip on the front of Epson ink cartridges. This will be necessary when refilling cartridges featuring Ink Monitoring Chips.

Once the chip has been reset your ink cartridge and printer will continue to use the amount of pages printer and the average page coverage to estimate ink levels. If there is still ink left in the cartridge when it next reads as empty... you can always reset it again!
