For these cartridges we recommend injecting the following amount of cyan, magenta and yellow ink:
CL-541/5227B005AA: 4ml (12ml Total)
CL-541XL/5226B005AA: 7ml (21ml Total)
The fill holes of these cartridges are very small and you will have trouble getting a regular syringe to fit. I recommend using the tool provided with many refill kits, a 2mm drill bit or a square shafted awl to widen it.
We recommend sticking to the lower fill for the CL-541 as these cartridges have a smaller sponge and are physically restricted inside the cartridge. As such over filling them can result in ink spilling inside your printer.
