Recycling Policy

We do try to keep our business ethically sound by supporting several charities and by reducing the damage caused to the environment.

Charities
Working with the recycling companies have allowed Refresh Cartridge customers to donate their old cartridges to support national charities.

Every remanufactured inkjet cartridge you purchase from Refresh Cartridges will come with a freepost return envelope which will result in a donation being made to the charity NCH The Children’s Charity (Reg No. 1097940) or alternatively if you have any additional cartridges to donate they can be sent to the address below:

The Inkjet Recycling Centre
Refresh Cartridge Collection

Please note that this address is only for EMPTY Hewlett Packard and Lexmark inkjet cartridges.

Alternatively a donation can be made directly to the NCH by clicking here

Preserving the environment
By remanufacturing cartridges (HP, Lexmark) our suppliers are preventing thousands of tons of inkjet cartridges from ending up in landfill sites.

Although remanufacturing compatible cartridges (Epson, Canon, Brother) isn't financially viable these cartridges have been designed by our suppliers to be recyclable into other goods.

Did you know that of the 60 million inkjet cartridges used each year in the UK, only about 5% are recycled? This means that 57 million cartridges get thrown away each year and end up in landfill sites or are incinerated. Inkjet cartridges will take about 1,000 years to decompose in landfill sites so recycling and remanufacturing them is by far the best way to protect our environment.

All cardboard that we use (and we do use a lot!!) as a business is either sent for recycling or reused for packing materials.
